| Michael Ciu is an
astute photographer who is mastering the fields of sports, news, and portrait
photography. I have been dabbling in photography since I was a little boy
and took charge of the darkrooms while in high school and college. Through
my educational training, I have skillfully combined my talents in photography
and graphic design to be a well-rounded visual communication specialist.
With these skills I have developed websites and multimedia components for
several well-established companies and organizations in the Lorain/Cleveland
area. I started photography by learning the ins and outs of Canon manual
cameras and black & white film processing. In 2002, I joined the forefront
of photography and have seamlessly converted to shoot primarily digital
images. I use Canon Professional Cameras and Lenses on an everyday basis.
In January of 2003, Michael Ciu teamed up with another Lorain, Ohio photographer, Jim Kolaczko, to form Primoshots specializing in youth sports photography. In 2003, I also joined the SportsShooter.com community where I actively trade information and tips with some of the industry's most elite sports photographers. Through my networking in the photography communities I have assisted photographers from Sports Illustrated, ESPN the Magazine, Athlon Sports, and more as well as freelancing for establishments such as The Lake County Captains professional baseball club, Cleveland Barons AHL Hockey, Tremco, and others. I am currently shooting many youth and high school sporting events throughout the Lorain/Cleveland area. Outside of the world of sports I also photograph weddings, stock photography and as of October 2006, Family and Children Portraits in my home-based studio.
